How does Advocate Spot-On work?

Advocate prevents re-infection between doses

Active ingredients: Advocate Spot-On combines two active ingredients, imidacloprid and moxidectin. Imidacloprid works topically. Following application, imidacloprid spreads through the lipid (fatty/oily) layer of the skin and fur, killing adult fleas and lice all month. It is also shed with the pet’s skin and fur into the environment to control flea larvae.  Moxidectin is absorbed via the skin into the bloodstream and tissues to kill internal parasites and mites.

Steady state protection: Between treatments, dogs can be reinfected with heartworms and intestinal worms. With regular monthly use, moxidectin reaches a steady state, providing continuous protection between doses, so your dog is always protected.

What does Advocate Spot-On protect against?

Comprehensive protection from intestinal worms

Fleas: Existing fleas are killed within 12-24 hours. Reinfesting (new) fleas stop biting within 3-5 minutes of contact, and are killed within 1 hour1. Advocate Spot-On also kills flea larvae in the dog’s surroundings.

Heartworm: Prevents heartworm disease

Oesophageal worm: Advocate Spot-On is the only product that protects dogs from the deadly oesophageal worm

Intestinal worms: Treats and controls roundworms, hookworms and whipworm

Lice: Treats and controls lice

Mites: Treats and controls demodex, sarcoptic and ear mites
