Seresto™ is an innovative and odourless collar that protects your cat from fleas and ticks for eight months, repelling ticks, and killing fleas and ticks on contact without the need for them to bite and take a blood meal. This means your cat is getting the longest-lasting protection against ticks, fleas and flea-borne diseases.

Seresto™'s innovative technology enables the collar to release controlled doses of its active ingredients over a full 8 months. These are transferred to your cat’s skin and fur, and spread across your cat’s entire body to keep your cat protected from ticks, fleas and flea-borne diseases for 8 months. It also reduces potential for transmission of cat scratch disease (Bartonella henselae) and flea tapeworm (Dipylidium caninum) which are both transmitted by fleas (Ctenocephalides felis). Seresto™ has also overcome the challenges of conventional flea and tick collars, to be water-resistant* and odourless.

How to apply the Seresto™ collar on your cat: 

1. Remove the collar from its packaging. 
2. Unroll the collar and remove the small plastic connectors from inside the collar, ensuring that no remnants remain. 
3. Insert the end of the collar through the buckle and loops. 
4. Adjust the collar around your cat's neck until it fits comfortably on them. 
5. Two fingers should fit between the collar and neck to ensure it's not too loose or too tight. Any excess length of the collar beyond 2 cm past the loops should be cut off, unless it is on a growing kitten, where some additional length may be needed for adjustment as the kitten grows. 
6. Check periodically and adjust fit if necessary, especially on growing kittens.

How to take the Seresto™ collar off your cat: 

Squeeze the outer sides of the buckle while pulling from the other end or side of the collar.  

Some may find it just as easy to carefully cut the collar off before applying the new Seresto™ collar.

There are two: imidacloprid, which kills adult fleas on your cat and flea larvae in their environment, and flumethrin, which repels and kills ticks. Both ingredients act on contact, so fleas and ticks don’t need to bite to be killed.

Seresto™ collars can be used on kittens from 10 weeks of age. If younger kittens need flea control, they can be treated with Advantage™ for Cats and Kittens from birth or weaning as required. 

Replacing your cat’s Seresto™ collar immediately after removing the expired collar will ensure continuous protection against fleas and ticks.

Not at all. Seresto™ is odourless, which means you don’t have to put up with any of the unpleasant smells you may associate with conventional flea and tick collars. 

Absolutely. Place the Seresto™ collar next to your cat’s normal collar, so that it is in direct contact with the skin or hair. 

In some cases, the collar can cause mild irritation leading to scratching, redness and hair loss under the collar. This usually occurs within the first one to two weeks of collar application. Typically, this resolves soon after without removing the collar, as your cat gets used to wearing it. Make sure that the plastic connectors were removed, and the collar is not too tight - always ensure you can fit 2 fingers between your cat's neck and the Seresto™ collar. In some cases, temporary collar removal may be recommended until the symptoms have resolved. Seresto™ is designed with a double safety-release mechanism. In the unlikely event of your cat being trapped, the collar will widen or open, allowing for a quick release. The collar is also equipped with a predetermined breaking point for additional safety.
