It’s quick and simple to use Advantage Chewable tablets for dogs, making this a convenient way to treat your dog for fleas and ticks year round. We advise administering Advantage Chewable once a month to keep your dog protected against fleas and ticks.

Step 1: Choose the correct Advantage Chewable tablet for the size and weight of your dog

Step 2: Remove tablet from packaging

Step 3: Either place tablet in pet food, or allow pet to take it from your hand

Step 4: Ensure you administer with food or within 30 minutes of feeding for full efficacy

Step 5: Repeat monthly

To protect your dog against fleas and ticks with Advantage Chewable tablet from 8 weeks in age or over 1.3 kg, you will need to choose the correct tablet based on your dog’s weight and administer with food or within 30 minutes of feeding for full efficacy. Every pack of Advantage Chewable for dogs contains three chewable tablets – each tablet protects against fleas and ticks for one month, so a pack of three will provide three months of protection.

Advantage Chewable tablets contain the active ingredient lotilaner. Lotilaner provides immediate and persistent killing activity of fleas and ticks for a full month.

If your dog does catch fleas, your home can quickly become infested, as fleas lay eggs on your pet, which fall into your home and hatch into flea larvae. These larvae develop into pupae and eventually hatch into adult fleas ready to bite your pet. Flea eggs, larvae and pupae will be hidden in carpets, bedding and upholstery throughout your home

If you are still seeing fleas on your pet despite using Advantage Chewable, the likelihood is that these are newly hatched fleas emerging from your home. Once fleas try to feed on your pet, they will ingest Advantage Chewable, killing them rapidly for the whole month after use. 

When a flea infestation has broken out in your home it’s important to act quickly. Ensure you wash animal bedding regularly and hoover your carpets and floors to kill fleas at every stage of their life cycle. 

If you still see ticks on your pet, there may be several reasons. Ticks may get on your dog's coat when your dog brushes past them, even if they've been treated. The active ingredients work through the bite, so ticks may attach. You may see ticks which are attached but dead, especially in areas with a high tick burden.
